ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kay Enokido was born in Manchuria. Her mother fought fiercely to keep her three small children alive during a harrowing escape from Manchuria after the collapse of the Empire of Japan in 1945. She inherited her mother’s strong sense of determination and perseverance.

Kay was a contributing writer to major Japanese newspapers and magazines and travelled around the world. She eventually became a businesswoman in America. She holds a BA in Journalism from New York University, and Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University.  She also attended Indiana University and Cornell Hotel School’s Advance Management Program.

After retiring from her position as President of the Hay-Adams Hotel Management Company, Kay and her husband built a house in Walpole, New Hampshire. She enjoys life in the country and loves tennis and occasionally golf.
